Daewoong Foundation Korean Center Enrollment: Free Korean Language Education and Career Development Opportunities
Daewoong Foundation (Chairman: Yoon Jae-seung) is now enrolling students for its Korean Language Program ‘Daewoong Foundation Korean Center (DF Korean Center)’ from December 11 to December 22, 2024.
The DF Korean Center is an educational program designed to enhance global competencies through the study of the Korean language and culture. Established in October this year at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic in Bali, Indonesia, all courses offered by the program are completely free, allowing students with strong motivation to develop their skills without financial burden.
This course is divided into two levels, starting with beginner-level Korean language basics and progressing to integrated learning of Korean culture. Regular courses are structured as a 12-week semester, with a total of 45 to 90 hours per semester.
Applicants can choose between online and offline courses, regardless of their region. Offline courses are available for students at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic and local residents in Nusa Dua. For those living in other areas of Bali, the program offers additional classes in Canggu, Munduk, and Handara regions. Additionally, an online course is available for applicants across Indonesia.
The DF Korean Center is open to anyone interested in Korea and looking to gain experience working with Korean companies. Detailed information and applications can be found on VIVIDAPP (drindonesia.vividapp.kr) and the official Instagram channel (instagram @dfkorean). Successful applicants will be selected through a two-step process: document screening and an interview.
A major highlight of the DF Korean Center is its practical curriculum designed to enhance job-related skills and provide an effective way to learn Korean. Students will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience by participating in Korean corporate projects and internships. High-achieving graduates will also receive employment support, laying the foundation for their growth as global talent. Additionally, students who actively participate in classes will be offered additional free Korean lessons and scholarships to further support their growth.
The curriculum is based on the educational model of the "King Sejong Institute," a Korean government organization, and provides systematic and professional courses. With a focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing, the program strengthens the foundation of Korean language skills, improving practical abilities through assignments and exercises. Native-speaking instructors with master's degrees and extensive teaching experience at overseas universities and government institutions will also provide tailored guidance, including pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances, which are challenging to learn independently, with 1:1 feedback for each student.
Students who attended trial courses at the DF Korean Center this year reported high satisfaction. Ni Made Candra Ari Peratiwi, a graduate working for a global company in Bali, shared, "It was difficult to learn Korean on my own, but thanks to the well-structured lessons and the careful guidance from professional instructors at DF Korean Center, my Korean skills have greatly improved. I feel my personal abilities have grown as I am now able to communicate freely with Koreans at my workplace."
Daewoong Foundation, established by Yoon Young-hwan, honorary chairman of Daewoong Group, a global healthcare company in Korea, has been fostering global talent since 2009 through scholarships and academic research support in Indonesia. After opening the Korean Center at Bali Polytechnic University in October, the foundation plans to expand Korean language education throughout Bali. Universities wishing to establish Korean language programs will receive support for the establishment of courses, and the foundation will also provide Korean language education and classroom improvements for middle or high schools in underprivileged areas to help students focus on their studies.
